Leaderboard

Who found the most this month.

Points for what your scans find, weighted by how serious it is — not for how many scans you run. One board for the world and one for each of eight regions, with write-ups of the most important finds.

How points work

Scored on what you find, so every plan competes equally.

A bigger plan means more scans, not a bigger score. The board rewards finding real problems.

  • Points by severity. Each finding scores by how serious it is: critical 7, high 5, medium 3, low 1. Informational notes score nothing.
  • Each problem scores once. A finding is recognised by its rule and the text it flagged, so the same problem scanned again — in another upload or under another file name — scores nothing the second time. Each rule scores once per scan, for its most serious finding.
  • Your best 20 scans count. Your score for the month is the total of your 20 best-scoring scans — the Free plan's monthly allowance — so someone on Free can top the board.
  • Samples don't count. The examples on the scanner page score nothing, whether uploaded as they are or copied into another file.
  • The top 5 get Pro, free. Finish a month in the top 5 of the global board or your region's and you get 7 days of Pro — or 30 days if you placed the month before too. One of each per quarter, after a quick check that the scanning is genuine. See the terms.
  • You choose to be listed. Nobody appears until they pick a display name and switch the board on from their account page. Leave any time and your name disappears within minutes.
  • Months run on UTC. Every board starts again on the first of the month, and a tie goes to whoever reached the score first. Past months stay here.
  • Write-ups are read first. The top 100 can send one write-up per month, until the 7th of the next month. We read each one before it's published, and never publish secrets or private code.

How regions are decided

Set by where your first scan of the month comes from.

Your region is worked out from your connection, the same way any website can tell roughly where a visitor is. It isn't something you choose, and it isn't stored anywhere else.

  • Country, then region. Cloudflare, which runs ryzek.dev, tells us the country of each request from its IP address. We keep only the region that country belongs to — never your IP address, city or country.
  • Fixed for the month. Your first scan each month sets your region until the month ends, so travelling mid-month doesn't split your score. You're always on the global board too.
  • VPNs and proxies. A VPN makes you appear wherever its server is, and that's the region you'll be placed in. Connections we can't place, such as Tor, go on the global board only. Moving region on purpose to reach the top of a smaller board can mean removal from the boards.
  • The eight regions. North America (including Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean); South America; Europe (including Russia, Turkey, the Caucasus and Central Asia); Middle East & Africa; South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives and Afghanistan); Southeast Asia; East Asia (China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, the Koreas and Mongolia); and Oceania (Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific islands).
